Whiting Spey
Whiting Spey rooster feathers have fantastic qualities, with incredibly thin fibers that bring a lot of life to the fly. The rooster's neck feathers are somewhat stiffer in their fibers compared to the hen's neck feathers. Therefore, they have different applications. Whiting Spey Salmon rooster feathers are probably most well-known for the "Pattegrisen" (Piglet) fly, but there are also many other colors that work well in different patterns for the coast, river, or whatever your imagination desires. These feathers give the flies an incredibly graceful and hovering movement in the water and are widely used for shrimp flies. They are also highly suitable for salmon/sea trout flies, and the long feathers at the top of the neck are excellent for filling and bringing life to large baitfish and pike flies.
You can purchase either a whole or half Whiting Spey rooster neck, or a whole Whiting Spey hen neck, as they are slightly smaller than the rooster neck. Additionally, we have Whiting Bird Fur, which is a 1/2 spey saddle. This includes many fine feathers, though the individual feather quality might not be quite the same, which is also reflected in the price.
