What is a coastal wobbler?
A coastal wobbler is a type of lure that has a low density as they often have "air in their backs".
This low density means that coastal wobblers can be used in most fishing grounds and are gradually becoming the go-to bait for coastal fishermen when catching large sea trout. Many of the coastal wobblers imitate sandeel and have a calm gait in the water.
Since it is a wobbler, they are often built so that you can "jerk" them to give them extra life - that is what, in our eyes, really makes a coastal wobbler a fantastic bait. In our eyes, it is probablythe best sea trout lures.
How to fish your coastal wobbler
With the right technique, spinning gearWith high quality bait and a little practice, you will find that it becomes easier to get bites on the hook. There are typically two ways to use your coastal wobbler:
1. Varying but calm retrieval: Here you take advantage of the natural movement of the bait in the water. By retrieving at a steady but varying pace, you imitate a sandeel or other small fish that sea trout often chase and cannot stand. You can experiment with small pauses or short, slower sequences in your retrieval – often the predatory fish will bite, right after a spin-stop the wobbler and "hang" in the water. This is a method that works particularly well in clear water and on days when the fish seem cautious.
2. Jerk-in: This technique involves making a short "spurt" with your shoreline wobbler, then flicking the bait out to the sides with the rod tip, followed by a spin stop, before repeating the process. Jerk-in gives the shoreline wobbler a more lively and unpredictable movement pattern that can be particularly enticing to sea trout. This mimics a panicked small fish, which often triggers aggressive bites.Condom spinnersHowever, it is also a good choice for fishing for sea trout. The method is particularly effective when you are fishing in areas with strong currents or have located the fish.
Flow-through coastal wobblers - a fantastic bait for the coast
Many of the modern coastal wobblers arethrough-lines for sea trout fishing. one of the popular through-the-run coastal wobblers is the Savage gear LT sandeel. It is the bait that has paved the way for many of the new coastal wobblers that have come along. With air in the back and a natural look, there are really good chances of catching fish.
