Arctic Fox/Silver fox
Arctic fox is perhaps the most commonly used material for wings on flies for rivers and streams - and with good reason. Arctic fox comes alive in the water and is very easy to work with. It is highly suitable and indispensable for many forms of fly tying. Used in a wide variety of fly patterns. Arctic fox is also a superb material for coastal flies and works really well for both fish imitations and as a tail on shrimp patterns. Overall, it's a great and widely used material with significant versatility and, at the same time, offered at a reasonable price. Arctic fox is a classic and integral part of most fly tying materials. Silver fox is longer than arctic fox and often has darker guard hairs at the tip.
