Pheasant, Gold pheasant and Armherst
Pheasant is used for a wide variety of flies, ranging from coastal flies to nymphs, salmon flies, and dry flies. Pheasant tail feathers, in particular, are incredibly popular materials for trout flies in general. Golden pheasant is highly used as hackle for salmon flies, and here we can mention three flies that Daniel has had great success with in recent years: Astrid, Tilda, and Horst Sock. Additionally, both the tip and crest feather from the golden pheasant head are essential components of many classic and traditional salmon flies. Flies worth mentioning in this context are Allys Shrimp and Gp, both of which are incredibly beautiful classic patterns that still catch a lot of fish. The tip feather is also widely used in both classic wet flies and dry flies. We have whole heads, tips, and crests in several colors in stock. We also have a wide selection of Amherst pheasant heads in various colors.
