The Whiting Spey Hackle Rooster Cape in Gold is specially crafted for tying Spey and Dee flies, providing the distinctive swept-back profiles and fluid motion required in swift waters. Originally, feathers from the Spey Cock roosters of Scotland were used, but with their decline and legal protection for herons, alternatives were sought. This product represents a genetic selection of rooster hackle feathers that replicate the desired characteristics: long, sturdy barbs without webbing, non-brittle texture, and excellent density.

• Ideal replacement for rare and costly Spey style heron feathers
• Perfect for salmon flies, Spey patterns, and shrimp imitations
• Feathers measuring approximately 5-12 cm, suitable as body hackle or tail
• Each patch is about 25 cm long
• Available in multiple colors including White, Brown, Light Ginger, Black, and unique variants

These caps encourage creativity and versatility in fly tying, allowing for a wide range of fly sizes and designs.
