High-performance, multi-purpose fly reels that cover the full spectrum of fly fishing – from high-mountain trout to brutal battles with Alaskan king salmon. The ultra-lightweight SHIFT LT features Sage’s proprietary Pacific Northwest-based Sealed Carbon Spool (SCS) drag, which utilizes a new sealing system with redundant internal gaskets to effectively prevent water ingress and internal corrosion. The numbered One Revolution drag wheel, found across the range, provides easy adjustment and delivers reliable, consistent and repeatable drag. With 39 individual settings – all accessible within a single rotation of the drag wheel – anglers can easily fine-tune the system for the target species at hand.
SHIFT LT wheels combine a robust, sealed carbon drag system with an ultra-light, cold-forged and stiff frame and spool for extreme performance – and more. With sizes from 3/4 to 9/10, there’s a Sage SHIFT LT for any application where strong, lightweight and precise control provide a decisive advantage.
Seismic shift
SHIFT LT delivers a measurable advantage across species and fishing situations, pushing the boundaries of what you can expect in performance. The lightweight, stiffness-optimized 6061-T6 construction provides an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, while Sage’s proprietary One Revolution SCS drag – made in the USA – ensures this series delivers… and then some.
SCS brake package
With its smooth engagement and consistent, reliable and repeatable braking power, Sage's Sealed Carbon System (SCS) gives you peace of mind knowing your bait is protected. Proprietary, high-quality carbon, made in the USA, handles high pressure and quickly converts the fish's kinetic energy into heat. Custom configurations allow for specific braking systems to be developed for each model, size and type of fish, and the entire system is fully sealed to keep out water, sand, dirt and salt.
Exclusive USA carbon
SHIFT LT brake pads are made from proprietary, U.S.-made carbon—the same material used in the brakes of jet aircraft and Formula 1 race cars. Carbon was chosen because it is the most effective material for dissipating extreme heat without wear. Unlike alternative brake materials such as cork, plastic, or polymers like Delrin® and Rulon®, carbon does not compress, degrade, melt, or burn. This allows for the development of compact brake systems that are high-performance, stable, durable, and fully repeatable.
