Designed for two-handed use from the ground up

Our new SPEY reels are the result of 40 years of design, fishing and tinkering combined with our lifelong passion for anadromous spey fishing. During that time we have seen - and in many cases driven - innovation in the Spey world in real time: material advances, rod and line developments, developments in fishing and casting techniques and the discovery of new ways of fishing two-handed. As a result of all these years of experience and collective understanding, we have identified the very specific requirements that modern Spey anglers place on their reels. We have taken this information and applied it to the new SPEY reels.

Internally, the SPEY reels use a newly designed, sealed carbon disc and a dual-click drag system that ensures reliability, eliminates unwanted spool rotation and provides exceptional resonance. Mass and balance were equally considered in our design process as we updated the model size to better align it with matching Spey rods, and we adjusted the location of the reel foot to provide consistent axial balance with the rod. A full-frame design eliminates the possibility of shooting lines slipping between the spool and frame, while the addition of a machined radius around the spool foot provides a comfortable wrap around leader, tip or tippet. The package is completed by a classic and elegant aesthetic with porting and laser engraving that spey anglers will recognize and appreciate.

SPEY reels are built on the foundation of our long-standing Sealed Carbon System (SCS) Drag and enhanced with two key developments: newly formulated O-ring seals and custom double clicks. The drag systems are sealed by our new and patented O-rings, which are designed to withstand greater amounts of compression. This ensures a stronger seal while resisting wear and fatigue. We have also redesigned the clicker system and added an additional clicker. In addition to increased reinforcement and improved durability, the double click design also limits free spool rotation so that fishing distance is not inadvertently reduced while fishing. SPEY reels’ One-Revolution Drag Knob features twenty numbered drag settings with half-detail settings, providing precise, consistent and repeatable drag settings that you can return to time and time again.

Nordic Anglers grants a 2-year warranty in accordance with the Danish Sales Act for extensive defects that are discovered during normal use of the product. The warranty does not cover defects, damage or wear and tear, directly or indirectly resulting from incorrect operation, poor maintenance, violence or unauthorized intervention. Complaints about defects and deficiencies must be notified to Nordic Anglers within a reasonable time after the defect or deficiency is discovered or should have been discovered.

In connection with complaint cases, Nordic Anglers will bear return costs to a reasonable extent.
